The discussion is carded for the Fort Young Hotel and is geared at sensitizing the public on the 2017/18 Budget.
According to a release, the discussion will be preceded with a multi-media presentation of highlights of the budget presentation of the Prime Minister and the response by the Leader of the Opposition, followed by two (2) hours of discussion. DBF member organizations will be allowed 10 minutes to present on the section of the budget deemed relevant to their sector for the first hour. The second hour will be open to the public for comments and observations with the public being given a maximum of three minutes for their intervention.
It states further that private citizens will be given priority over any parliamentarian who is present since it is understood that the parliamentarians had their opportunity in parliament to make their contributions and the activity is aimed at the private citizens.
Meanwhile, the DBF says this activity shall not be used to promote any political party or the agenda of any political party but is intended to demonstrate the maturity of the Dominican public to discuss national issues in a peaceful environment as objectively and respectfully as possible, where diverse ideas can contend.
