Dominica National Under-16 Netball team returns home undefeated despite robbery in Saint Lucia4/20/2017 Dominica’s National Under-16 Netball team has returned home undefeated, despite allegedly being robbery shortly after arrival in Castries, Saint Lucia.
The Under-16 tri-series commenced on Saturday. Team Dominica defeated Saint Lucia in their first match, 43 goals to 23; Celena Langlais shot 35 from 45 attempts. Kayla Telemaque shot 7 from 12 attempts and Etheline Telemaque 1 from 1. An early morning game saw Team Dominica defeating SJC Egrets 55 goals to 14. Goal Shooter Celena Langlais topped the scores with 51 from 59 attempts. Etheline Telemaque shot 4 from 6 attempts. In an evening match-up, the Saint Lucian National Under 16 Netball team came back with a vengeance, to make amends for their 20-point loss on Saturday evening. However, Team Dominica secured an 8-point victory, although they had been behind my 3 goals at half-time. Celena Langlais shot 31 from 39 attempts and Kayla Telemaque 11 from 16. In their 5th and final match of the tri-series held at the Vigie Sports Complex, Team Dominica was yet again victorious with a 10-point win over Saint Lucia, having led throughout. Shooting for Dominica, Celena Langlais scored 29 from 34 attempts, and Kayla Telemaque 9 from 12. Captain of the Dominica National Under-16 Netball team Celena Langlais, topped the scores for her team, with a total of 146 from 177 attempts being 82.5%. Team Dominica won all of their five matches in the series.
