Political activist Athie Martin describes Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit statements of “tit for tat” at a recent DLP Rally in Portsmouth, as evidence of a leadership defined by revenge. According to Martin, in the face of crises in the country, the Prime Minister has violated the biblical principle “revenge is the lord’s...”, and by doing so, he has created a Government defined by revenge, not one of compassion and forgiveness, as the Government has claimed to be. He went on to describe the Government as a rotting fish and says tit for tat is a two-way street. Meantime, Martin suggests that the UWP call a series of meetings around the island before the next Parliament meeting scheduled for Tuesday, to present the Dominican public with what he describes as the final threat to democracy, by the DLP Administration.
Martin says it is time to put an end to the dismantling of the Dominican society; and Dominicans must stand up to the Government, and let them know that unless the recommendations of the OAS regarding Electoral Reforms are implemented, there will not be a Parliamentary sitting.
