Today August 12 is International Youth Day and PPOD Leader Sapphire Carrington is calling for a transformation of the education system to make it more inclusive, equitable, accessible, and relevant for the 21st Century, and also result in more effective learning outcomes. Carrington said, “It is high time that the Ministry of Education develops better content of school curricula, not only for the fourth industrial revolution and the future of work, but also for both the challenges and opportunities that the ever-changing environment brings.” She says PPOD believes Inclusive, equitable, accessible quality education is critical to achieving sustainable development in Dominica; that youth are active champions crying for meaningful change & PPOD is honoured to amplify their voices to transform the country’s education system. Ms Carrington says she is committed to ensuring the achievement of global goals, and this is global goal number four. The PPOD leader is calling on Dominicans to come together and speak up for the youth and children, join the cause, and demand more for youth from government.
