Roseau South MP Joshua Francis has thrown his support behind eight Dominican businesses, which have filed a 3 million dollar lawsuit against the government of Dominica, for failing to secure the capital city and business property which were extensively damaged due to looting activities. After the passage of Hurricane Maria on September 18th 2018, outrageous acts of looting were committed by Dominicans and some Police Officers were witnessed engaging in the act as well, cementing the breakdown of order within the Police Force. The business community reacted in outrage venting their frustration to the government of Dominica and demanded a commission of inquiry into the Dominica Police Force. According to reports a review was done and many of the recommendations provided by the JDF team, which conducted the survey, were not implemented. This act, by many, is seen as an act of lawlessness from the government. Francis says he is pleased by the action taken by the business community and urged the government to peacefully meet the demands of the suit filed. Roseau South MP Joshua Francis
