On March 21stthe 12thedition of Jazz 'n Creole was launched at Roseau's Ka-Tai Restaurant. The event will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 2PM to 9PM in the charming Fort Shirley in Cabrits National Park, Portsmouth.
Jazz 'n Creole, first performed in 2010, is a blend of jazz and creole music, as well as gastronomy, dancing, culture, and the arts. Furthermore, this year's festival will feature a diverse selection of musical styles. The 12th edition of Jazz 'n Creole, which is becoming increasingly recognized for its fashion flare, will follow the theme of 'rainforest fantasy.' Tickets can be purchased for EC$150 at www.dominicafestivals.com. Patrons are advised to get tickets in advance since tickets acquired at the gate will cost EC$175. Children from 12 to 17 pay EC$75 for admission, while those under 12 enter free. The reintroduction of the 'Kids Zone,' catering to families with small children via a variety of fun activities like as face painting; a VIP section for those who want a little extra pampering; and the well-loved 360 video booth for social media sharing are among the special attractions of this year's edition. The current lineup for this year includes the Grammy-nominated Black Violin of Fort Lauderdale, the Island Jazz Collective with Jussi Paavola, Haitian American vocalist Phyllisia Ross, and Dominica's own bands, Signal Band and Swinging Stars. A series of pre-main stage events will commence on April 23, 2023, building up to the main stage event.
