With the advent of the LGBTQ community intending to take the government to court to reverse some current laws pertaining to gay rights in Dominica, the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC) shared their views on the matter. Executive member of the DAEC, Pastor Mitchel Jean Jacques says the LGBTQ have not been completely honest about this entire ordeal and many of them are the aggressors in most cases. He says marriage officers have been threatened and taken to court for refusing to perform marriage for LGBTQ couples. He says there have been many challenges instigated by the Gay community such as having issues with cake makers for refusing to put a decoration of a gay couple on the top of the cake. He reminds them that there is help for them and that the doors of the Lord are always open if they want to get out of that type of lifestyle. Executive member of the DAEC, Pastor Mitchel Jean Jacques The DAEC has made it clear that they stand by the word of lord and feels that we will be heading down a very slippery slope if we embrace the idea of muzzling the word of truth when it comes to Gays in Dominica. This is according to president of the DAEC Pastor Randy Rodney, who was speaking in reference to what have been witnessed in other countries that have legalized and decriminalized Gay activities.
