The seven young women vying for the title of Miss Dominica Carnival Queen 2020 were all officially sashed on Thursday November 7th.
The contestants are Savahnn James, 20 representing Roseau, Shannon Connor St Hilaire, Elnarrah Emmanuel, 19 also representing Roseau, Melanie Charles of Goodwill, Primrose Angel David, 25 representing Massacre, Kadisha Joseph 24, and Kimra Charles 22 both representing Fond Cole. The young ladies were all sashed by Miss Dominica Marisol John at the official media launch of Mas Domnik 2020 held at the Prevo Cinemall. The contracts were also all signed at the event making them official contestants of the upcoming pageant. Chairperson of the Queen Show Committee Romaulda Hyacinth said the show is seen as a platform to enhance and highlight the extraordinary talent, intelligence and poise of the young women in Dominica. “It also presents a great opportunity for them to develop through the various aspect of training in walking, public speaking, time management, discipline…” she said. The Miss Dominica Pageant will be held on February 20, 2020, on the forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
