UWP provides the rationale for their team’s visit to Guyana during the recent Caricom Heads meeting2/16/2017 In an Official Press Release issued on Thursday, The Executive of the United Workers Party (UWP) announced the visit to Guyana, of a team of Executive members made up of Honourable Lennox Linton, Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition and the UWP, Honourable Joseph Isaac, Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency, and Senator Dr. Thomson Fontaine.
The Team is in Guyana seeking to meet with individual CARICOM Heads of Government, who are now assembled in Georgetown, where they are attending the Twenty-eight Intercessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM. Hon Linton and colleagues will brief the Heads individually, on the reasons for the call made by the UWP for the resignation of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his colleagues in the Government of Dominica. The Team is scheduled to host a Press Conference in Georgetown, Guyana’s capital at 6:00pm today Thursday 16th February 2017, and will be interviewed on Guyana’s Premier Television Station at 8:00am on Friday 17th February 2017. Meantime UWP Leader Lennox Linton has cleared the air, regarding the rumours being spread by detractors, that he attempted to associate himself with the delegates of the DLP government, while on a visit to Guyana during the 28th meeting of the Caricom Heads, on Tuesday 14th February 2017.
