Minister for Youth Development & Youth at Risk, Dr Adis King says the increased number of reported cases of child abuse, child neglect, and abandonment is of growing concern. She said during the year, under review, there were 111 cases of child abuse, saying that one case is one too many. Dr King has said that families, the communities and society in general must be ready to play their part to eradicate this menace of child sexual abuse and other forms of abuse in Dominica. She was speaking at the 2022/2023 budget debate last night. Minister for Youth Development & Youth at Risk, Dr Adis King Meantime, President of Dominica Charles Savarin says data obtained from the Social Welfare division indicates a 20% increase in the number of reported cases of child abuse over the last 2 years, ranging from sexual abuse, incest, teenage pregnancy, neglect and physical abuse.
