Advocate for women's health, Mrs. Nicole Joseph-Chin, who specializes in breast health, provided some explanation of the purpose of the breast tour. She asserts that it has been more than 2 decades since working in this field; her goal and primary focus is to develop educational programs, advocate for change, and foster an environment that makes it easier for people to talk about breast health, and particularly the diagnosis of breast cancer, which can be challenging. She said one aspect of their project involves examining the interaction in various communities to get a sense of what is going on there. Mrs. Joseph-Chin mentioned that last Saturday, they got the opportunity to meet with the youth, because they are thought to be future catalysts. They also went on a listening tour to grasp the circumstances before applying what works. She further emphasized that although being a global problem, access to resources is particular to Dominica because of its geographic and socioeconomic circumstances. She added, when it comes to women's health in particular, we must consider the big picture, because in order to preserve overall sustainability around the development of a society, we must first prioritize health.
