Dominica’s Agricultural Sector over the years has cemented itself within the country’s culture; and in the past was known to be a powerhouse within the regional and international market. Over the years we have a less powerful agricultural sector, but a very relevant and necessary economic contributor to the country’s GDP. In an effort to see agriculture regain its glory or at least remain perpetuated for years to come the ministry of Agriculture food and fisheries (MoAFF) in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), set out to prepare strengthened agriculture risk management plan, that not see’s agriculture move forward during natural disasters but also see the agricultural sector thrive. Seeking to shed more light on this as well as breaking the stigma of agriculture being just planting food, Mr. Daniele Barelli of the UNDP spoke to QFM shedding more light on the matter.
