Dominica Freedom Party leader Bernard Hurtault says Dominicans must own and drive the discourse concerning electoral reform. He observed that the Dominica Labor Party leader is attempting to position himself as the lead discussant and decision-maker on this matter, but that is not his responsibility. Hurtault added that Dominicans must completely comprehend the ramifications of everything concerning electoral and campaign finance reforms, and conduct their own non-political independent discussions as voters and Dominican citizens. Hurtault says the DLP regime in office is in a situation where electoral reform is unavoidable because the opposition parties and civil groups have persisted with the struggle and pushed the moral case for it. Hurtault noted that DLP regime leader Roosevelt Skerrit is trying to change the narrative by trying to portray himself as the one who initiated it and wants to make it happen, but that is not the case. In fact the contrary is the case, in that he is afraid that proper electoral & campaign finance reforms will affect his ability to win the next general election. Hurtault says in order to bring this matter to the decisive point where electoral change is implemented, the opposition forces and good citizens have to traverse a long trip of discussions with the people. Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party, Bernard Hurtault notes that it is crucial to promote electoral reform in Dominica since it must be about preserving democracy and guaranteeing citizens' freedoms. He says this isnot about having a legal debate; rather, it is about getting people emotionally connected to the issue of their fundamental rights. Hurtault emphasizes the need to promote this as a way to save democracy, as that word by itself does not appear to resonate with the average person. He went on to say that political figures, groups, and advocates of democracy must comprehend its significance and craft a compelling message. Hurtault observes that we have not done this as effectively as we could have. Bernard Hurtault, the leader of the Dominica Freedom Party.
The last thing on a person's mind is usually when they should begin planning for their retirement. People are advised to begin saving as soon as possible since the earlier you do so, the more time your money has to grow. The fact that one is still young is one of the most prevalent justifications given for not investing for retirement. Anyone who is close to retiring will tell you how quickly the years pass and how much harder it is to save, the longer you wait. While the end will come and we are vulnerable to certain threats, Douglas Etienne, deputy director of the Dominica Social Security suggests that one should start thinking about retirement and the end early. He claims that in order to prevent a bad experience in the later stages of life, one must take every necessary action. Douglas Etienne, deputy director of the Dominica Social Security.

Pastor Randy Rodney stated that society has progressed to the point that many people have accepted and tolerated obscene things, and as a result of that tolerance, these things have now become part of the way of life. He went on to say that many individuals would prefer to wait for others to start certain trends or voice their ideas before taking a stand, such as waiting for pastors to take the lead, not recognizing that pastors have already done their bit. His remarks came after a group of Dominicans recently met to call for legislation that prohibits obscene lyrics in songs from being aired in public spaces. Pastor Rodney made reference to an incident that occurred back then, where he was ridiculed, when he considered, in his opinion that a specific song by Triple K was a bit improper, and he believes if these kinds of behaviors continue to be permitted, they will ultimately grow worse.
