He added that ineffective leadership can result in immorality, corruption, poverty, and a host of other negative outcomes, as was indicated in the program's opinion segment. According to Blanchard, an ungodly leader in a nation can cause spiritual corruption, a national catastrophe, and even death, especially when the people put their trust in that individual. For all intents and purposes, the Watershed is the region of land that receives water in the form of rain for Dominica because we don't receive snow or other forms of precipitation, according to Dr. Dave Lloyd, a member of the Waitukubuli Advocate for Viable Environment (WAVE). Dr. Lloyd went on discussing the watershed's three (3) main divisions. He was speaking on the Lifeline Program hosted by Dr. Thomson Fontaine on Q95 Sunday morning. Dr. Lloyd then discussed the third section of the watershed, adding that a properly functioning watershed will be able to trap as much of the water with the use of the forest canopy. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says there is a huge demand for housing in the Mahaut constituency, and plans are being made to acquire some land in several locations including Canefield and Checkhall. Minister responsible for Youth Development and Empowerment, Dr Adis King says Dominica could soon be enacting six family related pieces of legislation. A few of them are "Care & Adoption -Protection of Children", "Maintenance of Children Bill", and "the Domestic Violence Bill."She says they are being discussed at a Cabinet level to prepare for taking it to parliament. The National Joint Action Movement (NJAM), Dominica News Online (DNO), ComeSeeTV, Q95FM Radio, along with others partners and sponsors staged the first-ever Laugh out Loud (LOL) Comedy Competition on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Fifteen (15) competitors vied for the title of ‘Laugh of Loud Champion’, but there could only be one victor in the end. The judges made their decision following a presentation from each participant, and at the end, Cornelius Marie was named the winner, and received a trophy, $2,500 cash prize, and additional prizes. Members of the Dominica Council on Ageing led by the Council staff are preparing to observe ‘Month of the Elderly’, fromSeptember 1 to October 1, 2022.DCOA Inc’s theme for the Month of the Elderly is: “Building Our Resilience”. The Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, Youth at Risk, Gender Affairs, Seniors' Security, and Dominicans with Disabilities; Honourable Dr. Adis King says she is on board with the DCOA and will officially be launching the Month of the Elderly on September 1 with a National Address. The DCOA has incorporated a series of creative events to allow its members and the general public to participate in the observance of the Month of the Elderly. Financial Consultant Mr. Ronald Lander expressed concern, after considering the possibility of the national bank acquiring the Royal Bank of Canada, saying it presented some concerns. He emphasizes the need for these global organizations and institutions for strengthening global confidence, noting that this discovery was from the 2020 and 2021 National Auditor Report. However, the 2022 report has not yet been published to depict the involvement of the Royal bank. He emphasizes how crucial it is for other national and international organizations to enter our sectors in order to offer the essential services the banking sector needs to run smoothly. Mr. Lander reiterated that in order to improve and increase Dominica's need for financial services, we must address the production side challenges.
