APP Political Leader, Tahira Blanchard, says if her party is elected into government after the 2024 General Election, It will construct a full capacity sea port in the Stowe Area, facilitating travel to and from GrandBay, and to serve as a commercial hub for export of agricultural produce and other locally manufactured foods. A Steering Committee to prepare for the formation of a Village Sports Committee now in place in Marigot. At the meeting held on Tuesday 23rd November, 2021, a new Steering Committee was set up to work towards the formation of a Village Sports Committee for Marigot.The following person's were elected to serve on the Steering Committee:

He says he was always confident that the Grand Bay people would remain with the Labor Party, thanking them for their continued solidarity and support of the labour party. “David Still defeated Goliath” said defiant Independent Candidate Julius Gabriel, after Ambassador Vince Henderson was declared the preliminary winner in the Grandbay By-Election which took place yesterday Thursday 25th November 2021. Mr. Vince Henderson received 87% of the votes cast, Mr. Julius Gabriel received 12% of the votes cast & Mr. Clarington Andrew received 3 votes. Gabrielle laments the people of Grand Bay have shown they are easily bought, which is a complete contradiction to their ancestors’ legacy. “It was a very fruitful meeting indeed. The discussion was interesting, participation was good and suggestions were useful". This was the feedback from Nicholas Bruno, Project Manager of the Housing Recovery Project (HRP) of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Development, following a meeting with contractors currently undertaking projects with the HRP. The meeting was held on Thursday, 25th November 2021 at the Dominica Public Service Union. Bruno said the meeting gives the HRP an opportunity to review the organization’s processes to ensure that the interests of all are served. Approximately 28 of the 32 active contractors attended the meeting. Several HRP officials and other stakeholders were among the facilitators of the session, including Dr. Genora Joseph, Chief Physical Planner of the Physical Planning Division. She described the initiative as a good one, as it allowed both the local and visiting teams to hearfrom the contractors themselves, about some of the issues being experienced on site. The meeting was part of a process of continued engagement between the HRP and beneficiaries, contractors, the Design and Supervision Firm (DSF) and the Government of Dominica. Sixty-five projects are currently being managed by the HRP with a total target of 420 homes. The Housing Recovery Project – Project Implementation Unit (HRP-PIU) came into operation in February 2019 and was designed to benefit persons whose homes, up to 500 sq ft., were completely destroyed following the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017. The HRP-PIU is spearheaded by the Government of Dominica, and financed by the World Bank through a US$30M grant and a US$10M credit. Ambassador Vince Henderson has been announced as the winner of the Grand Bay Bi-Election which took place yesterday Thursday 25th November 2021, replacing Deceased MP Edward Registe.
Mr. Vince Henderson received 1129 Votes,or87% of the votes cast. Mr. Julius Gabriele received 2161 Votes,or12% of the votes cast. Mr. Clarington B. Andrew received 3 votes. Ambassador Henderson is now expected to officially join the cabinet of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, soon as he is sworn-in as the official MP for the Grand Bay Seat., which is likely to take place on or before Monday 29th November 2021. Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition Lennox Linton says the time has come to amend the standing order of Parliament, which prohibits Parliamentary Representatives from speaking Dominica’s indigenous Creole language in Parliament. Linton references that the Parliament of St. Lucia has already made this amendment allowing creole to be used during debates and other expressions in parliament.
