Criminologist Dr Peter St Jean says in the face of corruption, and the broad issues of Justice, questions such as, who are we? how do we relate to each other?, how are we going to deal with each other when we do wrong or what we do right?, needs to stem from an introspective view point beginning from the very top of society. Dr. St. Jean says that usually when problems occur from the top, they trickle down to the other aspects of our society. This ripple effect from the elites of our society are crucial says St. Jean. He says we cannot address the issue of strata-led influence of our sociological disposition, without first addressing the issue of unbalanced power in Dominica. Dr St jean highlighted the asymmetry of power wielded by the current prime minister, and other elites in society, in terms of their overall characteristics, as it pertains to being subservient to the prime ministers demands.
