Engineering, transmission and distribution manager at DOMLEC Lemuel Lavinier is advising customers who are operating their personal generators from their homes, to ensure that the DOMLEC system is completely isolated, so as not to compromise the electrical system and cause fires, or cause the return of their power to DOMLEC Lines. Lemuel was speaking on DOMLEC's ‘Power Talk’ program. Lavinier is also clearing the air over misinformation in the public that electricity has been restored to Morne Daniel. DOMLEC confirms that electricity has been restored in several areas within the city of Roseau. Meantime Lavinier says the company is working feverishly within the community of Pottersville over the next 2 weeks. Meantime, DOMLEC has reported that there are 462 accounts connected on the system as of 24th October 2017. He noted this does not include the 66 accounts connected in Portsmouth, and that there are 552 accounts connected in Roseau and Portsmouth, and that 476 certificates have been received from customers as at 23rd October 2017.
