Host of the Civic Vibes show on Q95, Loftus Durand, contends that the death of 36-year-old Kerwin Prosper of Kings Hill, while in police custody over the carnival holidays must be thoroughly investigated & charges must be laid as appropriate. Durand, contends that all Human beings have rights,and despite any crimes they have allegedly committed, those rights have to be protected. Mr Durand made that statement on Q95’s Hot Seat Show on Wednesday, where he was addressing the death of 36-year-old Kerwin Prosper of Kings Hill, while in police custody. He said the family is seeking answers after the police reported that Prosper had complained of feeling unwell while in police custody,and collapsed. He was subsequently transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Durand says reliable sources allege Mr Prosper was beaten to the point where blood was splurging out of his mouth & nose while in custody. He says we are living in a country where police brutality; inmates being killed in police custody is real, and no actions have yet been taken.
