It has been 2,251 days since Vescott Jones employment as a security officer with DASPA at the Melville Hall Airport was unceremoniously terminated and he still unable to get a hearing from a tribunal in order that justice can be served. Controversy has surrounded the firing of Vescott Jones as a security guard, since he was involved in an incident with opposition leader Lennox Linton who was allowed to return crab backs to his family, after Jones advised him that he would not be allowed to travel out of Dominica via the Douglas-Charles Airport with cooked crab backs in his possession. The controversy began on October 19 when Vescott Jones of Marigot, was reportedly given walking papers after he allowed Linton, who was leaving Dominica, to dispose of the crab backs since he did not have the required permit to travel with them. In a letter, dated December 15, 2015, DASPA CEO Benoit Bardouille informed Jones of his dismissal, saying that by allowing Linton to return the crab backs, that Jones had caused the authority to lose confidence in him as an employee and that he had operated in violation of standard operating procedures. Speaking to Q95fm Radio 'Talk on the Block' show yesterday, Jones said it was a painful situation to be in, especially when he did nothing wrong, and to lose his job and livelihood over wickedness is totally unjust. Meantime, his Attorney says they are standing on the count of unfair dismissal of Mr Jones, and the fight continues in seeking justice for him.
