The Roosevelt Douglas Primary School held its own Cadence-lypso competition Wednesday night, bringing cadence-lypso to the next generation. Ten (10) young local artists took the stage to compete for the Cadence-lypso 2022 Crown, bringing the Portsmouth neighborhood to life with the sound of lovely cadence-lypso music. Those battling for the crown were, Issabella Etienne “Joselina”, Tiffany St. Jean “Lady T”, Jakirah Stewart “Exotic Jazz”, Florean “Flor-Flor”, Alicia Francois “The Raven”, Jirah George “Mighty Jirah”, Adelle Letang “The Unbreakable Rose”, Shermya Paul “The Singing S” Natalia BatLee “Queen Dynamite” and Realia Alexis “The Gem”. In an interview yesterday with Founder of Creole Heartbeat Leroy Wadix Charles, Mighty Jirah expressed his excitement and endurance to his performance.
