Parliamentary Representative for the Wesley, Woodfordhill and Palm Tree constituency, Ezekiel Bazil, is sending a strong message to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, demanding that the Skerrit led administration treat all Dominican citizens equally. Bazil pointed out that free transportation should be given to college students living in the North East, to ease the burden of getting to the Dominica State College located in Stockfarm, for classes. This statement comes after the recent announcement made by Prime Minister Skerrit, that all tuition costs for college students be discontinued effective 13th May 2019, with the condition that college students engage in mandatory volunteer community service. However, according to the UWP executive, due to the partisan history of the DLP administration, since the early 2000’s, Dominicans believe the community service condition attached to this no tuition announcement, is a political gimmick to monitor and manipulate the youth of Dominica into voting for the DLP. Bazil believes the youth of Dominica should be allowed to make up their own minds, as to which party they want to vote for, based on the government’s performance on developing the economy.
