Portsmouth MP Ian Douglas claims the 2018/2019 Budget shows that Dominica is moving upstream7/30/2018 The DLP Government’s 2018/2019 national budget of almost 1 Billion dollars has raised hopes in some quarters and criticisms in other areas, as it relates the country’s current and future economic prospects, and especially in sharp contrast to the progress being made in some other sister islands in the Caribbean. Portsmouth MP Ian Douglas however is sharing some of the plans and strategies of his government, toward creating a climate resilient country. He says due to irregular weather systems and their potential intensity, serious adjustments had to be made in Dominica’s planning blueprint. He says these strategies have been implemented with the sole purpose of creating a climate resilient country. Meantime, Douglas is claiming that the current DLP Administration is the first Government to make serious development strides in Dominica. He is questioning the UWP approach to investment in an international airport and other financial projects. Douglas explained some of the mortgaging errors made by the UWP administration. He contends that a sinking fund mistake made by the UWP could have provided 300,000 million to help people in Dominica. MP for the Portsmouth Constituency Ian Douglas
