After a plethora of white-ball cricket recently the West Indies are ready to take on Australia in a two match Test series. The curtain-raiser of this series will take place in the Perth Stadium.
Windies to push for victory on final day against Australian PM's X1. Chasing 309 runs for victory, the West Indians will resume on 35-0 in their 2nd innings on the fourth and final day of their day/night tour match against the Australian Prime Ministers X1 in Canberra. They need another 274 runs. The Prime Ministers X1 had made 221-4 declared in their second innings. Matthew Renshaw top scored 101 not out, while Peter Handscomb made 75. The two also shared in a 145-run 3rd wicket partnership to help the team recover from 13-2. Earlier, the West Indians who resumed on 234-7, added only one to their overnight score as they were dismissed for 235 in their first innings reply to 322. Alzarri Joseph failed to add to his overnight 14, while Jayden Seales went without scoring. Raymon Reifer did not bat due to injury. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite is happy with the preparations so far and fancies his team getting the remaining runs. Brathwaite says normal cricket will be able to carry the team through.
