President of the United Workers Party (UWP) Lennox Linton laments that contemporary technology has brought to light the precarious foundation on which the process of nation building stands. He says this is resulting in a sense of insecurity, marginalization, and disconnection of the youth, from a system that has consistently demonstrated its inability to provide effective solutions to their real-world challenges. Linton believes Dominica is currently experiencing the consequences of its bad investments without substantial collaboration and involvement by the youth, over the course of several years. According to Linton, the learning process for young individuals occurs not only within the confines of a classroom but also outside of it and as such, it is imperative to establish a method of integrating resources for youth development in a manner that enables the acquisition of comprehensive skill sets.
