UWP Leader Lennox Linton contends DLP Government has corrupted the Electoral System in Dominica4/30/2018 Leader of the United Workers Party Lennox Linton says the Electoral system in Dominica has been corrupted by the Dominica Labour Party, He warned that Elections Thieves become brutal dictators, advising Dominicans to demand Electoral reform to ensure that independent bodies within the government, work in an independent fashion in the interest of the Electorate. Meantime, Linton says the party’s call for Electoral reform in Dominica began in 2005, and has been cleverly ignored by the Dominica Labour Party Administration, which formed the government in the year 2000. Linton added that in March 2008, the then independent Electoral Commission, decided to undergo the process needed to effectively implement electoral reform in Dominica. However, The UWP Leader said Attorney Anthony Astaphan, then advised Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit against the Commission’s move for Electoral Reform, calling it madness. Linton said Astaphan told Prime Minister Skerrit the move would tarnish his re-election legacy.
