The Ministry of Education and the Library & Information Service will host its 11th International College Recruitment Fair on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 at the Dominica State College from 9:30 a.m – 2 p.m. under the theme “Libraries evolving: Paving the way" and targets students, parents and other members of the general public.
The college fair is a gathering where prospective college students can come face to face with admissions representatives from a wide variety of post-secondary colleges to discuss course offerings, scholarships, admission and financial aid requirements, college life and other information pertinent to the college selection process. Attendees will be afforded the opportunity to gather information/materials from participating universities and also dialogue with representatives of financial institutions with regards to financing their studies, plus the EducationUSA advising Centre will be available for students seeking advice and resources on studying abroad. So far, the University of the Virgin Islands, Miami International College of Arts and Design, St. George’s University, the University of the West Indies and the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico are confirmed to participate in the college fair. Meanwhile, a debate will follow the fair at the Dominica State College Auditorium from 2:30 p.m on the topic “There should be equal legal repercussions for both men and women accused of domestic violence.” The event is hosted in collaboration with the AID Bank and the Bureau of Gender Affairs, who are sponsors of the debate.
