At a special ceremony held at the company’s board room earlier today, 13 students were awarded National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) scholarships to attend secondary school, in the new academic year.
Heimish Blaize received the NCCU Merit Scholarship, Giovanni Matthew received the Shand Jolly Merit Scholarship; Shannel Bethelmie and Heskeith Roberts received the Hudson Savarin Scholarships; Elijah Durand, Nehemiah Isles, and Terrylle Rolle received the Edward Elwin Scholarships; Niguel George received the first Kenneth Anthony Richards Scholarship; Alia Stephenson received the Ambrose Cuffy Memorial Scholarship; Ersha Joseph received the Vernice Bellony Scholarship; Kimara Panthier received the Marie Wilkins scholarship; and Jeffrick Joseph was the first ever recipient of the Johnson Joseph George Thomas Scholarship. According to NCCU President Mrs Josephine Dublin, over the last five years of the existing Scholarship Program, NCCU has spent over $400,000 on the annual scholarship program.
