16-year old Inoela Vital of the Convent High School tops CXC-ESEC Exams in Preliminary results
Preliminary Results indicate that 16-year old Inoela Vital of the Convent High School, has topped the 2016 CXC-CSEC Examinations with 12 ones. The results were officially announced by the Ministry of Education today Friday.
Kareen George of the Convent High School came second with 11 ones, and one 2, with Joanice Kernella George of the Pierre Charles Secondary School, coming third with 10 ones and 3 twos. 15 secondary schools submitted candidates for the CSEC, with a total of 834 school candidates, an increase from last year, when there were 791 school candidates.
There were also 448 private candidates bringing the total to 1,282 who wrote the CSEC Examinations in 33 subject areas. Officials however are making it clear that these results are subject to change.
Education Minister Petter St Jean says this year holds much significance, when considering the setback caused to the education sector, following the passage of TS Erika.
