$1,642,384.29 Contract signed Tuesday & Ground broken for phase III of Silver Lake Housing project

​A contract in the amount of EC $1,642,384.29 was signed between the Ministry of Housing, and contractor A K Henderson Construction Ltd yesterday, to undertake Phase III of a Government enhancement plan for Silver Lake.
 
A fire on December 26, 2016 left some 19 families homeless.
 
This contract is for the construction of a twelve-residential unit building for accommodating twelve affected families.
 
Roseau South MP, Joshua Francis, says he is happy that the Government is embarking on this project. He urged residents to provide support and assistance in the process of the construction of the building.

​Housing Manager, Hillarian Jules, gave an overview of the project.

Work is scheduled to commence on 1st February 2017. The building is expected to be completed by mid-August 2017.
