4 Dominicans & 1 renowned regional calypso legend to be inducted into ‘Kaiso’ Hall of Fame 20161/11/2016 Four Dominicans and one renowned regional calypso legend will be inducted into the Dominica Calypso Kaiso Hall of Fame 2016. Patrick Pembo Pemberton, Kelly Ras Kelly Williams, Osborne Ossie Lewis, Roosevelt Micko Williams, and Slinger the Mighty Sparrow Francisco will be inducted at a ceremony carded for January 29. Chairperson of the Dominica Hall of Fame Alex Bruno explained the process of the selection at a Press Conference last week. He also dismissed suggestions that the Hall of Fame is an initiative by the Dominica Calypso Association.

Pemberton is being inducted for his relentless pursuit for excellence in music having been an outstanding musician with the Swinging Stars Orchestra and providing quality accompaniments to Calypso since 1970. Osborne Lewis for his love for the art form and his role as Calypso judge for over 25 years. With an aggregate of 17 calypso crowns Roosevelt Micko is being awarded for the record number of calypso titles in the history of Dominica Calypso. Kelly Ras Kelly Williams is the longest serving head of the Dominica Calypso Association. And the legendary Dr Slinger Mighty Sparrow Francisco is said to be the only one of his kind.
