Four students have been awarded scholarships from the Central Cooperative Credit Union (CCCU) Ltd, to attend Secondary School in September.
Member of the CCCU Board of Directors, Hansel Valerie said “We take pride and pleasure in ensuring that some children receive an opportunity to transform their lives, to grow up to be productive citizens, to be successful in obtaining a viable future…” he remarked. “It gives us much joy.” Valerie urged the awardees to set priorities for themselves, and to do their best throughout their educational experience. Kamal Mohinani, Nolan DeJean of Goodwill, Nechanté Leblanc, and Jennicia Jacob of Portsmouth received their awards, at a ceremony held at the CCCU Goodwill Branch, on Thursday. Valerie’s advice for the students was, “You have an opportunity today. Grasp hold of it. Do the very best that you can. Dedicate yourselves to your studies. Be single-minded in ensuring that you are always at the top of your class. Put first things first. Prioritize your time. The effort that you put into your studies will determine the level of accomplishment that you will attain, at the end of it.”
