Four students of the Grand Fond Primary School have received scholarships under the Dr Thomson Fontaine Foundation, to attend Secondary school beginning September 2016.Each of the four students will receive $1,000 for the 2016/17 school year. The recipients are Shaira Cuffy, Claire Prince, Davis Bedminister and Jolusa Dublin.
The students were selected by the principal and staff, and awarded on the basis of need. Dr Fontaine made the presentation at the school’s recent graduation, where he also presented an Acer Laptop valued at $3,500 to the school. In awarding the scholarships, Dr Fontaine noted that as a former student of the school, he was pleased to be able to contribute to the ongoing education of the students of his village.

Mr. Fontaine needs to disclose all the name of the people who donated to this worthy cause. I recommend that he continues this effort and encourage his colleagues to do the same. It would be even better if it was a collective effort on part of the UWP but that's a good start.
