62 students graduated from the North East Comprehensive School (NECS) on Thursday June 30, 20167/4/2016 Sixty-two (62) students (33 males and 29 females) graduated from the North East Comprehensive School (NECS), on Thursday June 30, 2016. NECS celebrated its 10th Graduation Ceremony under the theme: “Success is not about conquering mountains, but about your commitment to the climb”.
The ceremony was attended by the Commerce Minister Roslyn Paul, who also represented the Minister for Education; Kalinago affairs Minister Cassius Darroux; Marigot Constituency MP Lennox Linton; Wesley constituency MP Ezekiel Bazil; and Officials of the Ministry of Education. The feature address was delivered by Dr. Kenrick James of Marigot, who advised the graduates to stay committed to God, their families, themselves and their country. Kadie Robin of Wesley is the Valedictorian, and also captured prizes for Mathematics, Integrated Science, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, EDPM and Social Studies. Chelsea Lawrence of Wesley is the Salutatorian and Student of the Year, and also walked away with prizes for Information Technology, Biology, English Literature, Social Studies, French and Public Speaking. Other students who obtained subject prizes included: Sherrise Anthony - Woodwork; Keiana Brown - Chemistry; Asaph Telemaque - Physics & Geography; Dennis Telemaque - Agricultural Science; Sherlika Toussaint - Physical Education; Nyssa Francois - Food and Nutrition. The following students also received awards: Lesroy King Jr - Deportment Male; Kadie Robin - Deportment Female; Chelsea Lawrence - School Spirit; Lesroy King Jr (Male) – Volunteerism; Chelsea Lawrence (Female) – Volunteerism; Dianne Robinson - Emotional Intelligence; Kihmo Benjamin, Brian Joseph & Keyon Burton - Most Outstanding Males in Sports; Sherlika Toussaint & Leneter Cadette - Most Outstanding Females in Sports; Kadie Robin - Most Outstanding Student Wesley Constituency; Keiana Brown - Most Outstanding Student Marigot Constituency; Aldon Gage - Most Outstanding Student Salybia Constituency; Dennis Telemaque - Most Outstanding Student Calibishie. The Principal and staff recognized Ms. Lisa James of Marigot, who was awarded “Sports Teacher of the Year (Secondary Schools)”, at this year’s National Sports Awards. Ms. Kyrna Augustine was recognized for her efforts and commitment in the coordination of the ceremony. Management & Staff of NECS wished the Graduating Class of 2016 all the best in their future endeavours, as they continue to climb up the ladder towards success; and also thanked the numerous donors to the event.
