As the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season begins, a number of communities across the island are said to be in a better state of readiness. This was revealed by Local Government Commissioner, John Fontaine, while addressing the 4th Biennial Annual General Meeting of the Dominica Association of Local Community Authorities (DALCA) on Friday. The 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season which begins today, is expected to be the most active season since 2012 with a total of 14 named storms and 8 hurricanes with 3 major ones forecasted during the season.
