According to a release, this workshop is organised under the EU-funded, BAM Program, and is being implemented by CARDI, with respect to the Development of Cost and Returns on Production, for selected Crops and Livestock, for which two major deliverables are Production Manuals, and Costs and Returns of Production Reports for priority crops and livestock. It states further, this particular project, is geared to develop evaluation tools for assessing competitiveness of priority commodities, and to train government officers in the conduct of cost and returns of production surveys and analyses. In the course of this validation and training workshop, participants from varying segments within the agriculture and related sectors, will be asked to engage in, and contribute to, a review of the commodity production manuals, towards their finalization. There will also be a session, focusing on evaluation tools, with emphasis on training in the conduct of cost and returns of production surveys and analyses, assessing/updating costs and returns of production, producing electronic statistical bulletins, and the application of evaluative tools.
