Agency Manager of SAGICOR LIFE Inc is urging Caribbean persons to create their own opportunities

Agency Manager of SAGICOR LIFE Inc Brenton Hilaire is calling on persons to create their own opportunities rather than constantly relying on people to help them. At the launch of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Financial Information Month 2016 ceremony on Tuesday, Hilaire said:
 
“I believe that we have become too accustomed to where we are at present, we seem to believe that we can sit down and wait for opportunities to come knocking on our door, but in truth and in fact, this is not the case…we have to create our opportunities”.
 
He continued “We will start with taking the initiative…a lot of times we sit down and wait for something to come our way, whereas in order for us to be actively successful, we have to prepare ourselves for the opportunity that can arise”.
 
Secondly, he noted that one should, “Be ahead of the curve. We see in the Caribbean, that we like to follow each other, you would have ten places to buy food, and each of those ten will sell paylau, and then another person will come and sell paylau again. Why should you be the eleventh person to sell paylau?” he asked.
