Dominica's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Vince Henderson, has assured the Dominican public that plans are in place for the completion of the Morrocan funded Cabrits resort and spa with or without their support. He says while the Government of Dominica is grateful for help from the Moroccans, they want a good management company in order to enhance Dominica's tourism product. The hotel, which includes fifty-eight (58) rooms and ten (10) suites with a spa, a pool and restaurants and a conference facility, began in September 2011 and was supposed to have been completed in October 2013.
Meanwhile, referring to other promised projects such as the Kempinski hotel, he says not only will these projects create income for construction workers and hotel workers upon completion, many other service sectors will gain revenue as visitors to Dominica increase.
