The 2016 Cadence Lypso competition rocked the Pottersville Savanah last week, until heavy rains stopped the show, during the intermission immediately following the first round of the competition between the individual singers.
All of the participants rose to the occasion and put on a magnificent show. The general consensus appears to be that the Cadence Lypso show is continuing to become more competitive each year. The organizers released the results on Saturday 5th November, and shows that the competition was extremely tight between the top three competitors. ‘Sye’ came in third with 67 points; Jerd Dorsette came in second with 72 points; and the reining 2015 Cadence king Anton Joseph ‘White Fairy’ retained his crown with a total of 73 points. Part 2 of the competition between the Cadence bands, which had to be cancelled due to the heavy downpours of rain, will now take place on Saturday 12th November at about 8:00 pm, at the Bay Front in Roseau, subject to permission from the Police and Port Authorities. This event will be free to the public, and vendors who had paid to sell products within the Pottersville venue, will be given free access to the Bayfront venue.
