Dr Pascal is cautioning all doctors on the medical board and the Ministry of Health in Dominica, to explain the most recent cases of victimization and preferential treatment toward two of his patients and himself. Dr Pascal referenced two very recent patients with major ENT problems, one was saved and treated at his clinic and the other, a three year old, after some 16 days is still waiting assistance from the medical board, to be flown out for treatment. With the way the health care system is being run in Dominica, it is no wonder there is very little confidence in its effectiveness, says Pascal. Dr. Pascal says, if the institutions cannot fulfill their basic functions, this needs to change, as it will only lead to suffering that is no different from a slave suffering at the hands of their plantation owner, and this is what we have been seeing in the country for the past 19 years.
