Roseau Valley constituency came alive Wednesday evening in an ocean of blue as Senator Ronald Charles was officially launched as the UWP candidate in that constituency. Trafalgar lily Valley Hard Court was the venue which hosted senator Charles and saw myriads of blue flags and T-shirts of solidarity. He was met with words of wisdom, encouragement, and confidence from fellow colleagues, family, artists and others. One of these voices of empowerment Wisdom and youthful vigor was his very own daughter, who with humility and honesty captures her father’s image, not only as a candidate but as a leader and father. He also received an outpouring from many others from the constituency as well within the team Dominica camp. Senator Charles then shared his vision with the people and says that he will be with the people regardless. Meantime, Charles says Team Dominica will ensure that the "vegetable basket" in Morne Prosper is brought back to life. Speaking at a meeting in Trafalgar last night, he said all feeder roads in the Roseau valley will be expanded and repaired. He spoke of the establishment of an Agro-tourism initiative to include greenhouse farming. Charles says the Aerial Tram will be revisited in Laudat, as well as the geothermal project. Prime Minister Skerrit tries to use reverse psychology to defray the impact of the damaging Al Jazeera Investigative Report on Diplomatic Passports for sale, by claiming the opposition is giving Dominica a bad name. Dr. Thompson Fontaine has conveyed his devastation over the dismal findings of corruption contained in an investigative report into Dominica’s CBI program, and sale of diplomatic passports. Dr. Fontaine insists that the DLP Vieille Case Constituency candidate has lost his moral authority. Fontaine spoke of the Prime Minister’s engagement in fraudulent lies involving nonexistent hospitals to hide money and claims the media network, Al Jazeera, allegedly plans to produce 6-7 episodes on the country. Former Manager of AID Bank and NBD Julius Corbette, is calling for the arrest of DLP Leader Roosevelt Skerrit, on basis that Skerrit have committed heinous crimes against the Commonwealth of Dominica, in matters of Fraud, Money Laundering, Bribery and Treating. Corbette told Q95 FM on Thursday that those who have supported Skerrit in an official capacity, must be investigated and punished appropriately. Additionally, he says the expose’ done by the Aljazeera News agency on the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration and the use of its finance, was well done and comprehensive. Corbette adds that DLP Leader Roosevelt Skerrit should bow down and apologize to the people of Dominica, for his misconduct in public office over the past 15 years. Meantime, Corbette has revealed to Q95news that he personally contacted Dominica’s President Charles Savarin, and pleaded with him to rally behind the masses who are boldly expressing their interests to change their government freely and fairly via normal Electoral Reforms. Justice Dr. Irving Andre expresses concern over the apparent rigging of the electoral system, saying that we are in a different age from 1979. He also says that there is new “in your face” tolerance for this type corruption, stirs up concern over the type of backlash that this blatant orchestration of election rigging would trigger. Social activist, agronomist and former Agriculture minister Atherton Martin, introduces the idea of impeachment hearings in Dominica, after the Al Jazeera scandal surrounding Prime Minister Skerrit. Mr. Martin was speaking on the Q95 Hot Seat program at the time of the statement, and referenced the Donald Trump impeachment hearings currently underway in the United States, as compared to the “Aljazeera Diplomats for sale” documentary just released, revealing criminal dealings of associates of the prime minister. He added that we have adopted a new socio-political mindset that is passive aggressive against persons of political positions whom we deem as our “partners”. Court Reporter Carlisle Jno Baptiste, in his interview with WINN FM in St. Kitts has reported on the latest turn events, regarding Dominica’s December 06th General Elections. Currently Dominica’s President Charles Savarin has come under major public scrutiny with many groups calling for his resignation, as he has failed to carry out his mandate and the wishes of the people for Electoral Reform over the past 15 years. The DPSU held a major public meeting where thousands expressed disgust with the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration, for failing to provide proper salary increases on 27th November 2019 among other things. It is reported that the Former Attorney General of Antigua Justin Simon of the Queens Council is leading a team of lawyers and has filed an ex party application in Dominica’s high court, in an effort to postpone the December 06th deadline for elections.
