He is now calling on DLP supporters to come out in large numbers to vote on December 6, 2019, but all of the recent polls show that the DLP is trailing the UWP in many constituencies ahead of the general election in December

Skerrit told supporters of the DLP this is not an election to stay home and not vote. His comments come as general elections draw nearer. He was speaking at a DLP Rally in Warner recently.

Former Manager of AID Bank and NBD Julius Corbette, is calling for the arrest of DLP Leader Roosevelt Skerrit, on basis that Skerrit have committed heinous crimes against the Commonwealth of Dominica, in matters of Fraud, Money Laundering, Bribery and Treating.

Corbette told Q95 FM on Thursday that those who have supported Skerrit in an official capacity, must be investigated and punished appropriately.
Additionally, he says the expose’ done by the Aljazeera News agency on the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration and the use of its finance, was well done and comprehensive.

Corbette adds that DLP Leader Roosevelt Skerrit should bow down and apologize to the people of Dominica, for his misconduct in public office over the past 15 years.
Meantime, Corbette has revealed to Q95news that he personally contacted Dominica’s President Charles Savarin, and pleaded with him to rally behind the masses who are boldly expressing their interests to change their government freely and fairly via normal Electoral Reforms.

Corbette says he also encouraged Savarin to maintain his legacy as a patriot who led a great revolution for needed change in 1979, and refrain from being biased in his judgments as President of the country in 2019.

Mr. Martin was speaking on the Q95 Hot Seat program at the time of the statement, and referenced the Donald Trump impeachment hearings currently underway in the United States, as compared to the “Aljazeera Diplomats for sale” documentary just released, revealing criminal dealings of associates of the prime minister.

He added that we have adopted a new socio-political mindset that is passive aggressive against persons of political positions whom we deem as our “partners”.
Martin says after speaking to a number of Laborites, there is a high level of disappointment, and they feel that Skerrit has dragged them into the mud, as there will be inquiries into this matter.

Currently Dominica’s President Charles Savarin has come under major public scrutiny with many groups calling for his resignation, as he has failed to carry out his mandate and the wishes of the people for Electoral Reform over the past 15 years. The DPSU held a major public meeting where thousands expressed disgust with the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration, for failing to provide proper salary increases on 27th November 2019 among other things.
It is reported that the Former Attorney General of Antigua Justin Simon of the Queens Council is leading a team of lawyers and has filed an ex party application in Dominica’s high court, in an effort to postpone the December 06th deadline for elections. The injunction was filed late Tuesday Afternoon and is expected to be heard sometime next week.
