Police in Egypt have killed dozens of militants during security raids on their hideouts, the interior ministry has said.The raids killed "40 terrorists" in Giza and North Sinai on Saturday morning, according to a statement from the ministry.
It said the militants were planning a series of attacks on tourist sites, churches and military personnel.The raids followed Friday's roadside bomb attack on a tour bus in Giza. No group has yet said it was behind the blast, which killed three Vietnamese tourists and an Egyptian tour guide, but Islamist militants have targeted tourists in Egypt in the past

The call for the discrimination of Haitian Nationals to end, was championed by the former superintendent and UWP secretary Nicholas George, earlier on Thursday. Mr. George made these statements on Q FM program ‘the Hot Seat’ via telephone, where he expressed the relationship that Haitian nationals have with the Dominican people and says that the united workers party when in office introduced the Haitian populace to Dominica’s economy via farm labor and that they have made contributions to our economy for some time. Mr. George says that citizens of every country in the world visit Dominica, some require visas, some don’t and that No visitor visiting Dominica from any part of the world is required to make any deposit except Haitians. Speaking on the issue of Haitian Nationals receiving easy access to Dominican passports and citizenship, Leader of the Concerned Citizen movement Loftus Durand says shared his concerns the matter saying that the possibility of Haitians being used to swing the elections in the favor of the DLP is a serious possibility. Durand whilst speaking via telephone on Qfm says that, looking at the signs as well as the track record of this present administration, “I am very weary, Dominicans should be as well, when there are indications to suggest that our Haitians brothers and sisters, it is alleged that they are being used to basically , do what they have to do at the next general elections to have this rouge regime to stay on the backs of the Dominican people.” He says that the chines and the Haitians are slowly but surely taking over the country of Dominica. Barbados may soon be welcoming another American university to its shores.
Prime Minister Mia Mottley today revealed that talks with Chamberlain University have already begun and she was hoping those discussions can soon be “wrapped up”. She made the disclosure during a tour of the Villages at Coverley, where 1,500 students and staff at the Ross University School of Medicine will reside. Chamberlain University is a for-profit healthcare and nursing school that offers bachelor, master and doctoral degree programmes in nursing, and a public health master’s degree. While not disclosing detail, Mottley, “We haven’t spoken about the work we are doing with Chamberlain University, which is a nursing school, and we are looking to see how wecan wrap that up as we go along. But we want to perfect what we are doing with Ross first, while at the same time having a conversation with the Barbados Community College and Chamberlain,” With students and staff expected to arrive in Coverley from as early as Saturday, Mottley said she was impressed at the transformation that had taken place in the community in less than four months. “We’re probably starting off the year with the equivalent of 75 000 seven-day tourists. That is what Ross’ equivalent is to us,” she said. Mottley said the students’ arrival would give the country’s economy a much-needed boost .Sudan's security forces fired shots into the air to disperse anti-government protesters in the capital of Khartoum as the northern African country entered its 10th consecutive day of protests.
Demonstrators burned tires on residential streets as organizers urged protesters to gather in large numbers near their mosques after Friday prayers. Large military vehicles were present on streets, and soldiers were stationed outside banks and petrol stations. According to Reuters, security forces also used tear gas and stun grenades to break up protests. The protesters were organized by a group of professional unions including doctors, lawyers, teachers and students. They are supported by two of the largest opposition parties. They are calling for President Omar al-Bashir to step down. he demonstrations began 10 days ago over fuel shortages and a spike in food prices that saw the cost of bread double in the past year. But they soon evolved into a wider call for the controversial leader to resign. The violent clashes have left at least 19 people dead and another 406 injured, the Sudan Minister of Information BusharaJuma said in a press conference on Thursday. Juma added that two wounded members of the security forces were among the dead. Juma said 219 of those injured were civilians and 187 were members of the government security forces. Khartoum is one of 14 cities across Sudan where protests are taking place, with the largest expected in Atbara, 310 kilometers north. President of the Concern Citizens Movement (CCM), Loftus Durand, believes the Ministry of health and the DLP administration have procrastinated too much time in developing Dominica’s health sector and building the much talked about, Marigot Hospital. Chairman of the Emergency Shelter sub – Committee, Glenroy Toussaint, is urging citizens who are able to leave emergency shelters, to do so. He said surprisingly, there are actually persons here just occupying space in the hurricane shelters, after receiving government assistance to restore their homes. Toussaint says however; the committee understands that there are still vulnerable persons who have not been assisted as yet and are in need of the emergency shelter for housing accommodation.
