Q95 news was notified December 29, 2020 at 8:01pm, by Official sources that, according to new data, global Co2 emissions dropped by around 7% in 2020, which is the biggest fall seen since World War II. It is reported that much of this can be attributed to the drastic changes in our behavior during the COVID-19 crisis.
But the question remains, “how can we reduce our emissions in a sustainable way?” Researchers believe that emission levels will rise again once restrictions put in place during the Covid-19 pandemic begin to be lifted. As a result, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres is calling on all leaders worldwide to declare a state of climate emergency in their countries until carbon neutrality is reached. Achieving this goal would require significant planning & investment in sustainable energies. Social Activist and CCM Executive Member, Zarr Emmanuel, calls for the reconstruction of Dominica’s Constitution, in efforts to ensure a fairer society, a stronger Justice system- as the current one is weak and easily manipulated by the Executive of government, and a more prosperous society.
