Business leaders from different sectors in Dominica, have gathered to discuss priority training areas, in an effort to strengthen Dominica’s workforce and the productive sectors. This is taking place under the theme “Development in Action: Insights from Successful Leaders.”
In light of this, The Dominica Association of Industry & Commerce (DAIC) hosted an Executive Breakfast with featured speakers from the Cave Hill School of Business / University of the West Indies, on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at the Fort Young Hotel. The DAIC says based on studies conducted, it has been found that negative attitudes and reluctance to take initiative, as well as the lack of ‘soft skills”, are amongst the deficiencies affecting productivity in the workplace. As a result, the organization says it recognizes the need for assessment of the training needs of Dominica’s workforce, and will use findings from the Executive Breakfast discussion, to drive its 2016 training program.
