Businessman Gregor Nassief has denied suggesting any veiled threat in his previous open letter to Opposition Leader Lennox Linton.
In another open letter addressed to Linton the businessman appeared surprised at the opposition leader believed that he would wish harm on him or his family. He explained that he was referring to Linton’s political career.
Nassief went on to say, Linton’s response illustrates that he no longer relies on facts but on assumption and innuendo, and he believes that Linton seeks to manipulate public opinion and to mislead Dominicans.
After presenting a few examples of his view of Linton’s favor toward assumptions, Nassief suggested that Linton should return to investigative journalism however says his supposed “reckless behaviour” which resulted in Linton being on the wrong side of a Privy Council judgement in the past might continue.
In his conclusion, he said he challenged Linton to another intellectual encounter to determine fact from assumption; this time on a morning talk show.
