The Caribbean Association of Administrative Professionals (CAAP) elected two Dominicans, to serve as part of the second decentralized Executive, for the period 2016-2018. This took place at its 28th Council Meeting and 14th Convention in Barbados, from July 10th to 14th 2016.
The Installation of the new Executive was the main feature of a Dinner and Awards Ceremony, which was held on Wednesday 13th July 2016. The evening was said to be a memorable one, particularly for Ms. Junella Magloire Trotman, who was installed as the first Dominican to be elected to the CAAP Executive. Regrettably her fellow Dominican Ms Louisiana Dubique Williams, and Barbadians Kathryn Daniel and Sandra Griffith-Carrington, were unable to be present for their installation. The Executive of CAAP comprises members from Barbados, St. Kitts/Nevis and Dominica. Ms Trotman was elected Second Vice-President/PRO, while fellow Dominican Ms Williams, was elected Territorial Representative for the North. Administrative Professionals from around the Caribbean got the opportunity to network, and initiate friendships, and also took advantage of the wealth of knowledge that was shared by distinguished presenters, at the various training sessions and panel discussion. This fourteenth (14th) Convention was hailed as one the most successful events held, at a time when several member countries are still experiencing very little growth, coming out of one of the longest recessions in world history.
