CARDI's Head of Resource Mobilization and Planning in Trinidad, Maurice Wilson, says the finalization of eleven (11) commodity production manuals will provide the tools which will enhance the opportunity for the development for a whole range of commodity based industries across the agricultural sector. He is currently on island as part of a team from CARDI, to implement the project here with respect to the Development of Cost and Returns for Production for selected Crops and Livestock and Returns of Production Report for priority crops and livestock. Wilson says stakeholders of the agriculture industry have not been able to strengthen the link between research and trade in the aggressive and effective way it should be developed to reap significant benefits. He says this production manual will seek to assist in that regard. The eleven commodities are citrus, pineapple, cocoa, coffee, yam, passion fruit, dasheen, plantain, bananas, goat and sheep.
