Crime Stoppers Dominica awards prices to 12 students for participating in their Jingle competition6/24/2016 At a prize ceremony held by Crime Stoppers Dominica on Wednesday 22nd June 2016 at the Fort Young Hotel, prizes were awarded to a group of 12 students, who participated in a Jingle competition. The participating students were: Verlisa Bedneau, Kyanna Dyer, Naya Irish, Ajha Johnson, Che Joseph, Gabrielle Leblanc, Alyssa Letang, Jaylen Baron, Emrode Elie, Nigel Lawrence, Kahya Delsol, and Zoe Bannis
They were winners by default, since they were the only school who made a submission for the jingle category of the competition. In their jingle entitled “Stop the Crime in Dominica”, the children are urging everyone to play their part in maintaining a peaceful Dominica. The purpose of the competition was to raise awareness of the Crime Stoppers Dominica programme among the youth, and to highlight the role that Crime Stoppers Dominica plays in helping to keep communities safe, through anonymous reporting.
