DEXIA awards nine farmers and vendors for their creativity, dedication and product displays at MDWAD10/31/2016 DEXIA recognized and awarded nine farmers and vendors for their creativity, dedication and diverse product displays at their stands, at Market Day With a Difference, which was held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Roseau Market. The event attracted Dominicans and visitors who gathered to witness some cultural and agricultural highlights of the Independence season.
Market Day With a Difference is designed to recognize persons who have contributed to the agricultural development of Dominica. General Manager of DEXIA, Gregoire Thomas noted that the Roseau Market Organization, in collaboration with DEXIA, identified nine outstanding farmers and vendors for awards as follows: Kimberly Wade- Youngest Vendor Philomen Joseph- Oldest Vendor Samuel Pacquette- Best Butcher Merlyn Boston- Best Snackette Emmanuel ‘Mano’ Pierre- Best Mobile Vendor Hazel Baptiste Thomas- Best Shop Margaret Baron- Most regular Vendor Frances Francis- Best Vendor’s Booth Albertine Green-Best Saturday Vendor of Fresh Produce Thomas noted that because of time and space constraints in the crowded market area, the nine awardees will be given their tokens of appreciation at an official award ceremony in the near future.
