The Discover Dominica Authority is working on a new marketing campaign titled, ‘Seeking Adventures’ geared at appealing to travellers looking for something different and who are inclined to vacations much like the unspoiled nature which Dominica offers.
Speaking with the Government Information Service, CEO and Director of Tourism, Colin Piper, says the project is currently in the pilot phase. “The essence of the campaign is that we will put web banners on a number of sites out there that visitors frequent. We anticipate that they will click on those banners and visit the micro site. There we will inform them about hiking, diving, soft adventures, cuisine, culture on Dominica and give them an opportunity to review hotel, tour and travel specials” he said. Piper listed source markets of the US and Canada, and Germany, France and the French West Indies which he says are ready to go live. “It’s a complete global campaign and it is intended to leave no stone unturned and no doubt about the fact that Dominica is ready and open for business.” This latest campaign comes at a time when calls are being made for greater efforts to be made at promoting Dominica's tourism product.
