DLP candidate Denise Charles declared winner in Soufriere Constituency election yesterday
DLP Candidate Denise Charles has been declared the winner in the Soufriere Constituency by-election. She reportedly received 1342 votes, while Higgs Adams of the United Workers Party(UWP) got 560 votes. There were 30 rejected ballots and 2 spoiled ballots.
In this by-election, Miss Charles secured 16 more votes than her predecessor Ian Pinard of the DLP, who had received 1326 votes in the last 2014 general election, and UWP's Higgs Adams received 822 votes.
